Family Board ("the App") is a shared organization tool for families — meals, activities, time tracking, grades, a shared calendar and schedule, photos, and notes. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, who can see it, and the choices available to you.
When you create or join a family on the App, we collect:
Dashboard display preferences (which widgets you've chosen to show) are stored only on your own device and are never sent to our servers.
Information you provide is used solely to operate the App for your family: displaying entries to family members, generating rough calorie estimates for logged activities, and scheduling reminders. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
Everything logged to a family — meals, activities, grades, notes, photos, and schedule entries — is visible to everyone who has joined that family. Family membership is controlled by a private family code; anyone who has that code can join and see the family's shared data. Treat your family code like a house key, and only share it with people you trust.
The App is hosted on cloud infrastructure provided by [aws us-east — e.g. Amazon Web Services], which stores and processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not share your information with any other third party, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics services that track you across other apps or websites.
Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access to family data requires a signed authentication token issued when you create or join a family. Uploaded photos are stored in private cloud storage, not publicly accessible. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Family Board is designed to be used by families, with adult supervision — for example, a parent may help a child log a grade or an activity. The App does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 who are using it independently and without a parent or guardian's involvement in setting up and supervising their use. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information outside of a supervised family context, please contact us using the information below so we can remove it.
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
